Plott Hound

The Plott Hound is a large scent hound, originally bred for hunting bears. In 1989, the North Carolina General Assembly designated the Plott Hound as the official State Dog.

Temperament: Bold, Intelligent, Alert, Loyal

Weight: Female: 40–55 lbs (18–25 kg), Male: 51–60 lbs (23–27 kg)

Height: Female: 20–23 inches (50–58 cm), Male: 20–28 inches (50–71 cm)

Colors: Black, Black Brindle, Blue Brindle, Red Brindle, Brown Brindle, Tan Brindle

Litter Size: 6-10 Puppies
